John Paul Kusz, of the Center for Sustainable Enterprise at the IIT Stuart Graduate School of Business, received his BFA in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He also has an MFA from the University's Chicago campus as well as an MBA from Dominican University. His firm, JPKusz Ltd., develops technologies and strategies designed to mitigate the negative environmental consequences often associated with business activity.
He has authored more than 25 articles and presented at national and international conferences, speaking principally on environmental problem-solving through the product design process and organizational change. Previously he directed the product development and product stewardship groups at Safety-Kleen Corporation, an environmental services company. His expertise has been relied upon by such diverse agencies as the U.S. EPA, the U.S. Congress's Office of Technology Assessment, the Canadian Standards Association, and the International Organization for Standardization, more commonly known as ISO. He holds 10 U.S. and international patents.
