CONVOCATION INFO


The School of Art + Design's 2010 Convocation Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in the Tryon Festival Theatre, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 South Goodwin Avenue, Urbana, Illinois.

The convocation address will be given by Sarah Burns, the Ruth N. Halls Professor of Fine Arts in the Department of Art History at Indiana University, Bloomington, Indiana. Professor Burns received her Ph.D. in Art History from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Invitations will be sent to graduates and parents of graduates in April 2010. Graduates will also receive instructions on reservations, tickets, regalia, diploma presentation and the ceremony.

Tickets are required for the Art + Design ceremony.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception to honor graduates, families, and friends will be held in the Link Gallery at 408 East Peabody Drive, Champaign, Illinois.

The Opening Reception for the 2010 BFA Graduate Exhibition will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2010 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. in the Krannert Art Museum. The exhibition will run from May 8 through May 16 and will be viewable by visitors to the Convocation Reception.
