CONVOCATION INFO
The School of Art + Design's 2013 Convocation Ceremony will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Tryon Festival Theatre, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 South Goodwin Avenue, Urbana, Illinois.
The convocation address will be given by Dr. William Wallace, the Barbara Murphy Bryant Distinguished Professor of Art History at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He teaches Renaissance art and architecture and is an internationally recognized authority on Michelangelo and his contemporaries. Dr. Wallace received his MA in Art History from the School of Art + Design, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Invitations will be sent to graduates and parents of graduates in March 2013. Graduates will also receive instructions on reservations, tickets, regalia, diploma presentation and the ceremony.
Tickets are required for the Art + Design ceremony.
Immediately following the ceremony, a reception to honor graduates, families, and friends will be held in the Link Gallery at 408 East Peabody Drive, Champaign, Illinois.
The Opening Reception for the 2013 BFA Graduate Exhibition will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. in the Krannert Art Museum. The exhibition will run from May 4 through May 12 and will be viewable by visitors to the Convocation Reception.
