The School of Art + Design requests the honor of your presence at the 2009 School of Art + Design Convocation Ceremony on Sunday, May 17, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. in the Tryon Festival Theatre, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana, Illinois.

The Convocation Address will be given by John Paul Kusz, Center for Sustainable Enterprise, IIT Stuart Graduate School of Business. John received his BFA in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

In order to facilitate planning for this event, the School has mailed a hard copy of this information, a Convocation Ceremony Form, and a Box Lunch Order form to both you and your student at your addresses currently on file at the University. Either you or your graduate may complete and return the hard copy forms via mail. Alternatively, your graduate, using his or her University netID and password, may complete the Convocation Ceremony Form online by Friday, May 1, 2009. You do not both need to complete the forms; we send them to both you and your graduate to ensure that you are both fully informed. For more information about the process, we encourage you to visit our FAQs page.

Tickets for the ceremony are required for family members and guests. Graduates must pick up tickets from Melissa Madsen in room 142 Art + Design by 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Friday, May 15.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception to honor graduates, families, and friends will be held in the Link Gallery, which is adjacent to the School of Art + Design. The 2009 BFA Graduate Exhibition in the Krannert Art Museum will be viewable by visitors to the reception.

Box lunches may be reserved in advance, by special order only, and will be served at the reception. To order lunches please return the Box Lunch Order Form, with payment, by Friday, May 1, 2009.

We encourage you to visit our convocation FAQs page for more information.
