The School of Art + Design requests the honor of your presence at the 2013 School of Art + Design Convocation Ceremony on Sunday, May 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. in the Tryon Festival Theatre, Krannert Center for the Performing Arts, 500 S. Goodwin Ave., Urbana, Illinois.

The convocation address will be given by Dr. William Wallace, the Barbara Murphy Bryant Distinguished Professor of Art History at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. He teaches Renaissance art and architecture and is an internationally recognized authority on Michelangelo and his contemporaries. Dr. Wallace received his MA in Art History from the School of Art + Design, University of Illinois at Urbana - Champaign.

In order to facilitate planning for this event, the School has mailed a hard copy of this information, a Convocation Ceremony Form, and a Box Lunch Order form to both you and your student at your addresses currently on file at the University. Either you or your graduate may complete and return the hard copy forms via mail. Alternatively, your graduate, using his or her University netID and password, may complete the Convocation Ceremony Form online by Friday, April 26, 2013 and the box lunch order form is also online. You do not both need to complete the forms; we send them to both you and your graduate to ensure that you are both fully informed. For more information about the process, we encourage you to visit our FAQs page.

Tickets for the ceremony are required for family members and guests, including babies and toddlers, but not for students. Graduates must pick up tickets from School offices in room 143 Art + Design Building by 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 6. Each graduate may request up to seven tickets by the deadline. Additional tickets may be picked up on Wednesday, May 8 on a first-come, first-served basis.

Immediately following the ceremony, a reception to honor graduates, families, and friends will be held in the Link Gallery, which is adjacent to the School of Art + Design. The 2013 BFA Graduate Exhibition in the Krannert Art Museum will be viewable by visitors to the reception.

Box lunches may be reserved in advance, by special order only, and will be served at the reception. To order lunches please return the Box Lunch Order Form, with payment, by Friday, April 26, 2013 or use the online form.
