By Car:
From the north:
Take I-57 South to Exit 237A for I-74 East toward Indianapolis. Follow I-74 East for 2.5 miles before taking Exit 182 onto Neil Street. Proceed on Neil Street for about 2 miles, passing through downtown Champaign. Make a left onto Stadium Drive (at the light) and go under the railroad tracks. After two blocks, make a right onto S. First Street. Half a block later, turn left onto E. Peabody Drive. The School of Art + Design is approximately one block ahead at 408 E. Peabody Drive.
From the south:
Take I-57 North to Exit 220 for US Route 45 North toward Pesotum and Tolono. Follow Route 45 North for a little more than 14 miles until you reach the traffic light at E. Kirby Avenue. Make a right on E. Kirby Avenue. Half a mile later, turn left onto S. Fourth Street. Soon after, make a right onto E. Peabody Drive. The School of Art + Design is directly to your left at 408 E. Peabody Drive.
From the east:
Take 1-74 West to Exit 182 for Neil Street. Proceed on Neil Street for about 2 miles, passing through downtown Champaign. Make a left onto Stadium Drive (at the light) and go under the railroad tracks. After two blocks, make a right onto S. First Street. Half a block later, turn left onto E. Peabody Drive. The School of Art + Design is approximately a block ahead at 408 E. Peabody Drive.
From the west:
Take I-72 East, which turns into University Avenue as you enter the western edge of Champaign. Make a right at the traffic light at N. Mattis Avenue. A few blocks later, turn left onto W. Springfield Avenue (at the light). Proceed nearly 2 miles before turning right onto S. Neil Street (this is also US Route 45). Half a mile later, make a left onto Stadium Drive (at the light) and go under the railroad tracks. After two blocks, make a right onto S. First Street. Half a block later, turn left onto E. Peabody Drive. The School of Art + Design is approximately one block ahead at 408 E. Peabody Drive.
By Plane:
The University of Illinois Willard Airport is less than six miles from the School of Art + Design. American Airlines, Delta Connection, and Northwest Airlines offer a combined eighteen flights each day to and from four major hubs: Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, and Detroit. Additional flights are offered with less frequency.
On a Train:
The Illinois Terminal Building, less than two miles from the School of Art + Design, offers regular Amtrak transportation via the City of New Orleans and Illinois Service lines.
On a Bus:
Greyhound offers extensive service from many regional cities to Urbana-Champaign via the Illinois Terminal Building, less than two miles from the School of Art + Design.
In addition, Illini Shuttle, Lex Express, and Suburban Express provide transport to and from a variety of regional destinations, including downtown Chicago, the Chicago suburbs, the Chicago airports, and the Indianapolis International Airport. Be sure to place reservations in advance.
