A+D student wins $27,000 grand prize
An undergraduate senior in industrial design won a $27,000 grand prize in the 2009 Collegiate Inventors Competition on October 22. Stephen Diebold's invention, developed in an industrial design class that matched design students with disabled ones to better develop new products for the disabled, tied for grand prize.
Diebold was the first undergraduate to win the grand prize and the only contestant from the fine and applied arts. Learn more about Diebold's win and the competition.
