Luke Batten teaches in the Photography Program and makes photographic and design-based work with the collaborative group called New Catalogue. His most recent exhibition was a solo show at the Rhona Hoffman Gallery in 2008 entitled Sergio Vieira De Mello, Rally Paris-Darfur. He is currently working on a monograph entitled New Catalogue with the Museum of Contemporary Photography in Chicago, co-published with Nazraeli Press. The collaborative group New Catalogue has shown internationally and nationally at the National Gallery of Prague, The Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago and The Indianapolis Museum of Art. He is represented by the Rhona Hoffman Gallery in Chicago and Kaune-Sudendorf Gallery in Cologne, Germany.

Luke Batten received his BA 1995 in History and Studio Art at Humboldt State University and in 2000 received his MFA in Photography at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He is based out of Chicago, Illinois, where the New Catalogue Studio is located.
